Dedicated to the memory of Arthur Thompson

This site is a tribute to Arthur, husband of the late beloved Amy, father to Steven and Colin and a much loved grandad and great-grandad.  He grew up in Sparsholt, Hampshire, and returned to live there for many years with his family.  At the age of 72, he and Amy bought a guest house in Weymouth which operated very successfully before retiring to their much-loved bungalow on the outskirts of the town.  Arthur, in his own words, "stopped buying long-playing records" in 2005 when his beloved Amy passed away.  Nonetheless, he enjoyed another 15 years in his bungalow before moving back to Hampshire to be nearer his family.  In his latter days in Weymouth he enjoyed the company of his good neighbours and was also supported by visitors from the Dorchester branch of the Royal Voluntary Society who provided companionship and listened to his many stories.  He was much loved and will always be remembered.
